What is sustainability ?
There is not one definition of sustainability, there are three pillars that make up sustainability as a whole for only describing one of the meanings is not enough to describe everything that sustainability is. Definition for sustainability : Ability to corroborate or substantiate a statement. Ability to maintain or support an activity or process over the long term period , basically sustainability is the development that meets the needs of the present without compromising the ability of future generations to meet their own needs .
What are the three spheres of sustainability ?
Why do we have sustainability
We as humans have sustainability to maintain a certain status or process in our existing system. If we did not have sustainability the world would not be as it is today sustainability helps us as society to grow and maintain a process so that we are able to go onto the future so that what we produce doesn't have a negative effect on the environment but so we can balance out what we produce and recycle so that future generations can have a planet to live upon. For example ( from http://www.benefits-of-recycling.com/whyissustainabilityimportant/ ) For example, if you continue wasting water and polluting the dwindling supply of freshwater that we have today, we leave future generations with no other choice than to desalinate saltwater or treat contaminated water for their consumption and daily use.
